Cultivating Habits

  1. When we wake up in the morning, what is the first thing that we ask ourselves?

  1. Have we even asked anything?

  1. Which questions should we ideally ask?

  1. How should we spend the first few waking minutes to set the right tone for the rest of the day?

Let me begin with a short story.

Shiv was very impressed with Priya.  Not even 30 she built a business of her own.  Although, they studied together and were at par in studies, Priya was able to follow through and achieve her dream of becoming a successful business leader while Shiv was still working as an employee in an IT company.

What differentiates Shiv and Priya?

Well, there could be lot of things, but one stark differentiator between people who follow and achieve their dreams and others who still aspire; is the ability to cultivate the right habits, habits that are in harmony with their dreams.

I may have the greatest of ideas and the most compelling desire, but till the time, that desire and zeal are not exploited with the right kind of habits, it remains so – a desire and a dream.

We need to develop the right habits to see a ‘Change’.  A change from ‘Dreaming’ to ‘Achieving’.

So, the first 4 questions asked at the beginning become even more pertinent as they are the ones setting the tone on how we spend our minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years which eventually decide what we achieve.
